What AFATIZ is?

AFATIZ is an antineoplastic agent used for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with non-resistant EGFR mutations or resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy.

How to take AFATIZ ?

The recommended dose is 40mg once daily. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water. If swallowing a whole tablet is not possible, this can be dispersed in approximately 100ml of noncarbonated drinking water.

How does AFATIZ work?

AFATIZ is a potent and selective, irreversible ErbB family blocker. In particular, AFATIZ covalently binds to the kinase domains of EGFR (ErbB1), HER2 (ErbB2), and HER4 (ErbB4) and irreversibly inhibits tyrosine kinase autophosphorylation, resulting in death of cancer cells.
